Foli-OH

Everyone wants their work to stand out, right? Well, here are our top 10 tips on how to make a glowing first impression with your folio, and trust us...we’ve seen a few.

1. Edit, edit, edit.

Only show your favourite projects, and present them as proper case studies.

2. Format

Clients usually prefer to see a PDF, but a website is good too.

3. Own it

Only show your own concepts. Never put in other people’s ideas.

4. Think

Display clever thinking and your process. It’s just as valuable as killer creative styling.

5. Consistency

Pick an approach and stick to it. All the projects you choose to show should be presented in the same way.

6. Be obsessive

Are you a typography, illustration or materials junkie? Show it!

7. You do you

Your portfolio should reflect your personality as well as your work.

8. Back it up

Bang on (and on) about your practical skills, creatives often forget to reiterate technical ability.

9. Slick

Keep the design of your portfolio slick, concise and contemporary.

10. Size Matters

25 pages of five case studies is really absorbable.
